The KEY WEST is a sportfisherman's dream come true! This boat is all cockpit! And that means plenty of room for a gang of anglers without tripping over each other. There's even plenty of space for all the gear including bait and the "prize catch". Seating is provided for four and the helmsman's seat features a pivoting backrest so it can be used in equal comfort as a dual fishing chair. The transom step hinges up and out of the way when necessary and there is a compartment for carrying a portable head.

The KEY WEST can be powered in a variety of ways. Standard power is by a centrally located inboard under the removable control console. An optional deep skeg can be used for protection of underwater gear and for excellent directional stability at slow trolling speeds. Optional power can be provided by single or twin outboard motors, or even stern mounted inboards driving through an outdrive, jet-drive, or vee drive.

The KEY WEST is a rugged and seaworthy craft with a good turn of speed. The vee bottom hull features a bulbous entry for soft riding while the chine has a reverse curvature to deflect spray for a dry ride. The hull aft is modified to provide a stable fishing platform unlike the many "tippy" extreme vee hull types. Hull construction features strong but simple double diagonal plywood bottom planking with convenient sheet plywood used on the sides for economical construction. Not only will the KEY WEST cost far less than a comparable stock boat, but by building your own, you can get a boat just the way you want it that's truly custom built! And you can have the pride of stating, "I built it myself".
