Based on our popular CORONADO deep-v hull design, NOR’WESTER is a practical trailerable boat configured for foul weather and rough seas. With an emphasis on practicality, the cabin has full headroom and an inside helm to assure a roomy, warm, dry, and protected environment for passengers and skipper. The forward-raked windshield commonly associated with commercial boats improves visibility while minimizing glare and heat radiation.
Two or three can sleep on the v-berth forward, and there’s an enclosed head plus space for a galley or hanging locker. Or you can rearrange the interior to suit your needs. A gang of anglers will find plenty of room in the 11' long self-draining cockpit.
Power can be single or twin outboards (25" long shaft for singles; 20" or 25" for twins), or I/O units to 1300 lbs.
Construction is easy with our FULL-SIZE PATTERNS for the seven frames. These are combined with longitudinal stringers to further reinforce the rugged ½" bottom and " sides. Or build in welded aluminum using 3/16" bottom and " sides. Methods are given for varying boat length from about 23' to 28'. Plans include instructions, material list, and fastening schedule (wood plans).
