Gudgeons and pintles are the hardware pieces that connect the rudder to the stern of the boat. There have been different configurations over the years that used different strategies to make this connection. The piece with the "pin" is usually called the pintle. The "receiving" piece is usually called the gudgeon.
The pintles in our gudgeon and pintle sets, attach to the rudder, the gudgeon to the stern. Our sets are made of marine grade stainless steel and come in a variety of sizes to fit boats up to 25'. Each set includes two gudgeons and a long and a short pintle. The smaller sets also include a "rudder stop" that prevent the rudder from floating out of the gudgeons.
