Building the Glen-L Tuffy Part 2
Posted by Paul Vankeppel on Oct 9th 2019
This blog post continues from Part 1 of my Glen-L Tuffy build and details the process of finishing the decking and electrical system.
Finishing the Deck
The rest of the build was focused on the deck and interior of the boat. The deck was sanded, primed using Interlux Epoxy Primekote and painted in the same way as the hull. Then a toe rail and rub strip was mounted on the perimeter of the deck. The rub strip can be removed fairly easily in case it is damaged.
Electrical
With so many components requiring electrical connection, a lot of time was invested in planning an effective and efficient wiring diagram. This diagram went through many iterations and included components such as the battery, lights, radio, pump, switch panel, voltage and temperature sensors, charger, etc.
That's all for Part 2, the next post will be focused on the interior of the boat and will also include some details about the engine that I had bought on craigslist. Thanks for reading! Click here for Part 3.
